U.S. U17 National Team standout Andrew Carleton, who appeared in four games on loan with the Charleston Battery last season from Atlanta United FC, scored a must-see finish as the United States booked its place at the FIFA U17 World Cup in India on Friday night.

The U.S. U17s defeated Cuba 6-2 in Panama in the CONCACAF U17 Championship to earn their place in India, with Carleton’s chipped finish the highlight of the night.

Carleton is one of five players with USL experience in the U.S. U17 squad. Toronto FC II’s Ayo Akinola sits second on the team with four goals in the tournament, and recorded the assist on Carleton’s goal. Chris Gloster (New York Red Bulls II), Jaylin Lindsey (Swope Park Rangers) and Chris Durkin (Richmond Kickers) have also played major roles in the team’s success in Panama.

The U.S. will square off against Mexico on Sunday at 4 p.m. ET for the CONCACAF championship, having previously defeated El Tri’s U17s in the opening group stage. The game will be streamed via Twitter and YouTube.
