CHICAGO – LA Galaxy II defender Hugo Arellano was named on Sunday among five players with USL experience to the United States U20 Men’s National Team training camp that will run from April 3-10 in London.
“This camp provides one more opportunity for players we have already seen with the U-20 National Team and also players who have done well with our U-19 National Team,” Ramos said. “We will be able to see players in highly competitive environments playing against very good competition.”
Arellano is joined in the 25-player squad by midfielders Collin Fernandez, currently on loan with Tulsa Roughnecks FC from the Chicago Fire, and Yosef Samuel of Bethlehem Steel FC. Defender Marcello Borges, who competed for the New York Red Bulls II as an Academy signing prior to enrolling at the University of Michigan, and forward Felipe Hernandez of the Swope Park Rangers were also named in the squad.
A handful of current and former PDL standouts were also named in the squad. Goalkeepers J.T. Marcinkowski (Burlingame Dragons FC) and Justin Vom Steeg (Ventura County Fusion) and defenders Aaron Herrera (FC Tucson) and Miles Robinson (FC Boston) were also named as the side builds toward the FIFA U20 World Cup in South Korea in May.
