IRVINE, Calif. – Orange County SC announced on Wednesday the club had re-signed versatile Belgian veteran Roy Meeus. The signing is pending league and federation approval.
Meeus joined Orange County ahead of the 2016 USL season, and made 27 appearances for the club as it earned a second consecutive berth in the USL Cup Playoffs. Meeus recorded four goals and four assists in the regular season, and converted from the penalty spot as Orange County defeated Sacramento Republic FC in the Western Conference Quarterfinals of the 2016 USL Cup Playoffs.
The 27-year-old had previously played in more than 150 games in the Belgian First and Second Division, including four years at Club Brugge.
