Ocegueda Leads Trio of Additions for Orange County

Arrives on loan from Tigres UANL; local standouts Jeon, Villalobos also signed

IRVINE, Calif. – Former U.S. U23 international Juan Pablo Ocegueda led a trio of additions announced by Orange County SC on Saturday afternoon, with the full back joining the club on a season-long loan from Tigres UANL of Liga MX. The club also announced the signings of midfielder Kevin Jeon and forward Gustavo Villalobos. All three signings are pending league and federation approval.

A native of Santa Ana, Calif., Ocegueda joined Tigres UANL’s Academy at the age of 14, and after turning professional with the Liga MX club made his debut on March 13, 2014 in a Copa MX match against Puebla F.C. Ocegueda most recently competed on loan for Alebrijes de Oaxaca in Ascenso MX.

Internationally, Ocegueda has represented the U.S. at the U18, U20 & U23 levels, and started in all three group games at the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup. Ocegueda has made more than 25 appearances for U.S. Youth National Teams.

Villalobos, 25, recorded one goal in 18 appearances this past season in the USL for Tulsa Roughnecks FC, with his goal coming in a 2-0 victory against Saint Louis FC in July. A native of North Hills, Calif., Villalobos began his professional career with Swedish side Ånge IF in 2014, and then went onto play in the Maltese Premier League team Qormi and Pembroke Athleta, where he finished as the club’s top goal scorer.

Jeon, 23, a local product from Irvine, Calif., is a dynamic midfielder with promising talent who most recently competed in Spain and Germany. Jeon is an explosive winger whose ability and experiences abroad will add depth to the squad.
