Forward Wilson Kneeshaw has re-signed with Sacramento Republic FC for 2017, pending league and federation approval. Kneeshaw impressed late during the 2016 campaign with clutch scoring off the bench.

“Wilson is a very exciting player and showed us last year that he has an eye for the goal,” said Republic FC Head Coach and Technical Director Paul Buckle. “He is still fairly young and showed enough positive signs that he can be a big success for us. Next season will be a big one, as he will look to establish himself as a first team regular.”

Originally signing with Republic FC on Aug. 11 Kneeshaw had just five substitute appearances. He scored three goals, tied for fourth-most on the club in 2016. Kneeshaw was also incredibly efficient, taking just four shots to score his three goals.

The forward previously played professionally in England and Romania after coming through the ranks of the Middlesbrough FC Academy.
