2016 USL All-League First Team selection Jack McBean is starting to flourish in his new environs on loan from the LA Galaxy with Coventry City FC U23s, as he notched his seventh goal for the side in a 3-1 victory against Crystal Palace on Tuesday.

McBean, who scored 15 goals for Los Dos in 17 appearances in the USL this season, scored the opening goal in the victory, which marked the seventh in a row for the side.

“I thought the team played very well today, overcoming a slow start to control most of the match,” said McBean to the club’s official website. “Once we got into the lead it was always going to be difficult for them come back with the confidence we’re playing with.”

Signed to a Homegrown Player contract midseason by the Galaxy, McBean headed to England in August. With his strong recent form, he’s hopeful that the chance to compete for the club’s first team – which plays in League One – is just around the corner.

“I think everyone wants to move up, myself included,” said McBean. “Even though I am only here on loan I want to represent the highest level I can and be scoring goals for whoever I am playing for.

“The last month has been a lot better for me personally. I am enjoying being here and the challenge that brings. I feel it is a really good club, that is improving me as a player.”
