The rookie Homegrown signing lets us into the locker room as Seattle heads to Arizona

Seattle Sounders FC midfielder Jordan Schweizter has been part of the club’s family since 2011, going from the club’s Academy to the PDL’s Sounders FC U23 for three seasons before signing with the MLS side as a Homegrown Player this January.

This year, the central midfielder has been a mainstay for Sounders FC 2, with one assist in 13 appearances for Coach Ezra Hendrickson’s side. Ahead of S2’s game with Arizona United SC this Saturday, we caught up with him to talk music and teammates.

Q: Who is your all-time favorite artist?

JS: That’s really tough to say! I listen to most types of music and have a few artists I really like but J Cole is someone that I have always enjoyed listening to and his early stuff is inspiriting and motivating.

Q: If you could steal any artist’s closet, whose would you choose?

JS: Another tough question. … Bryson Tiller is someone right now who I wouldn’t mind stealing from

Q: Who is the locker room and bus DJ?

JS: We have a few guys who will step up and play music and I like to throw myself into the mix. Devon Fisher and Matt Bersano have some great Spotify playlists and run the show in my opinion.

Q: Who has the best dance moves on the team? How about the worst?

JS: Michael Nelson and Devon Fisher are up there for sure as far as the best goe,s and there are quite a few guys who might tie for the worst.

Q: How important is the right music to your game day routine?

JS: It’s always been important since I was a kid playing. Music helps me focus and also helps give me a sense of control. When so many things can change, especially on the road where things are unfamiliar, it helps to have some consistency to my game days. It’s important though to find the songs that work for you.

Warning: The music on this playlist may contain strong language, which may be unsuitable for children. Listener discretion is advised.
