STLFC striker and Swope playmaker square off Saturday; who’ve you got?

When Missouri rivals Saint Louis FC and the expansion Swope Park Rangers meet this Saturday at Swope Soccer Village (8:30 p.m. ET), many eyes will be focused on STLFC’s Irvin Herrera and Swope’s Kevin Oliveira. Both players have been crucial to their respective offenses this season.

Herrera has spearheaded a Saint Louis attack that was one tally shy of matching the USL single-game record of eight earlier this season. The STLFC striker also posted the USL’s first four-goal match of the campaign, doing so on May 21 against Tulsa Roughnecks FC.

Oliveira has done everything you want out of a midfielder for Swope (5-7-2, 17 points), tallying three goals and leading the squad in assists with four – which also ties for the league lead heading into the weekend.

Saint Louis (6-5-4, 22 points) grabbed the early series lead against Swope with a 3-0 victory on May 7, with Herrera tallying his first goal of the season in that match. Since then, Herrera has moved up to fourth among the USL’s goal-scoring leaders heading into the weekend.

With both sides in need of a victory to make a run up the Eastern Conference standings, which player do you think will play a bigger role Saturday night?
