Ahead of his side's showdown with WFC2, we checked in with Energy FC's goalkeeper

A new arrival this offseason, OKC Energy FC goalkeeper Cody Laurendi has helped his new club maintain its high standard at the back this season, with a goals-against average of 1.00 and save percentage of  .727 helping keep the side in position to make another run in the USL Playoffs.

Ahead of this Saturday’s key Western Conference clash with Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 at Taft Stadium, we caught up with Laurendi to find out more about what music gets him ready for game day, and more.

Q: Do you play any instruments yourself now, or when you were growing up?

CL: I played the Tuba in middle school – I attribute that experience to my phenomenal taste in music.

Q: What was the last concert you went to?

CL: Kalen Ryden and I went to a Disclosure concert here in OKC a month ago.

Q: Which track on the list fires you up the most?

CL: Church in These Streets by Jeezy fires me up the most at the moment.

Q: What’s your go-to karaoke song?

CL: My go-to karaoke song is Push It by Salt N Pepa.

Q: How important is the right music to your game day routine?

CL: The right music is pivotal for my game day routine. I like a little slower tempo in the morning and then closer to game time I'll fire up some bangers!
