Sacramento looks to snap two-game losing streak against upbeat Blues

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Sacramento Republic FC will look to snap a two-game losing streak as it hosts Orange County Blues FC on Saturday night, with the Blues entering undefeated in their last three games. Kickoff at Bonney Field is set for 7:30 p.m. PT.

Sacramento Republic FC news and notes

  • Current record: 2-2-1, 7 points
  • Sacramento opened the season on a three-game undefeated streak, but has dropped each of its past two games, including a 1-0 loss to Saint Louis FC last Saturday.
  • Republic FC has struggled in front of goal so far, with only two goals in five matches so far. Tommy Stewart and Cameron Iwasa have found the net for Sacramento this season.
  • Sacramento’s two-game losing streak is only the third in the club’s history. Republic FC has never suffered a three-game losing streak in USL play.
  • Veteran goalkeeper Dominik Jakubek leads the USL with a 0.40 goals against average.

Orange County Blues FC news and notes

  • Current record: 2-2-1, 7 points
  • The Blues enter Saturday’s game with victories in each of their past two contests, including a 1-0 win against the Portland Timbers 2 in its last outing on April 20.
  • Trinidad & Tobago international Trevin Caesar scored the only goal for the Blues against T2, his first for the club.
  • Orange County goalkeeper Brandon Miller has recorded back-to-back shutouts, after recording a single-season league record 13 for the Rochester Rhinos last season.
  • The Blues return home for two more games against Colorado Springs and Arizona in the next two weeks before the club faces its first game outside California this season against Real Monarchs SLC on May 21.
