COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC will host the club's inaugural home opener this Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. MT at Sand Creek Stadium against rivals OKC Energy FC.  

This will be the first home game for the Switchbacks FC, and the first meeting between the two teams as the begin their Western Conference rivalry in the USL. 

The Switchbacks played the first game of their inaugural season last Saturday against the Austin Aztex.  It was the first true test for the Switchbacks’ team, but while the side battled hard, the Aztex took a 2-0 victory.

Energy FC opened its 2015 season in Tulsa against in-state rival Roughnecks FC. OKC opened the scoring in the 45th minute when Michael Thomas headed home a corner kick, but the Roughnecks battled back with a goal in the 72nd minute by Brady Ballew to earn a 1-1 draw.  Energy FC’s inaugural season was in 2014, when they finished two places outside the playoffs. 

The Switchbacks’ home opener will include an appearance by Southern Colorado’s own Miguel Dakota - a finalist on America’s Got Talent - a beer garden featuring Heineken & Pikes Peak Brewing Company favorites, and unique permanent suite structures.
