Las Vegas Lights FC has signed defender Themi Antonoglou ahead of the 2026 season, with the 24-year-old having made 130 appearances in the professional ranks so far in his career.
LAS VEGAS – Las Vegas Lights FC announced on Tuesday the club had signed defender Themi Antonoglou for the 2026 USL Championship season with a club option for the 2027 campaign. The transaction is pending league and federation approval.
Antonoglou joins the Lights having most recently competed for Valour FC in the Canadian Premier League, where he recorded two goals and six assists in 29 appearances during the 2026 campaign. The 24-year-old left back has compiled 130 appearances across all competitions during his career, including representing Toronto FC in Major League Soccer prior to his arrival at Valour.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Themi to the Lights, a dynamic left back with significant experience in MLS and the Canadian Premier League,” said Lights Sporting Director Gianleonardo Neglia. “He’s the type of player who can drive attacks from the back and generate significant goalscoring opportunities. His ability as an attack-minded left back is an exciting prospect, and we’re looking forward to integrating him into the squad during preseason.”
A product of the Toronto FC academy, Antonoglou made his professional debut for Toronto FC II in USL League One against the Richmond Kickers on August 17, 2019. He tallied 58 appearances for the Young Reds across four years, the majority of which came in MLS NEXT Pro, recording 10 goals and 10 assists.
He was part of the Toronto FC squad that won the 2020 Canadian Championship against Forge FC on penalties (5-4), a competition that was rescheduled to 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Antonoglou made his first team debut on April 24, 2022, in a 5-4 defeat to New York City FC on the road. After 15 matches across all competitions for Toronto FC, he joined Canadian Premier League club Valour FC in 2024.
With the Winnipeg side Antonoglou made 57 appearances across all competitions, scoring three goals and providing 16 assists. In 2024, he led the Canadian Premier League in assists, alongside Forge’s Kyle Bekker, with seven. In 2025, he led Valour in assists (6) and chances created (38).
