22-year-old earned Atlantic 10 All-Conference honors in senior season at Davidson College, brings USL League Two experience

TULSA, Okla. – FC Tulsa announced on Friday it had signed defender Alonzo Clarke ahead of the 2026 USL Championship season. The transaction is pending league and federation approval.

Clarke enters the professional ranks with the Scissortails after competing collegiately at Davidson College, where he recorded seven goals and three assists in 4,205 minutes across 58 appearances between 2022 and 2025. The 22-year-old’s defensive efforts in his senior year saw him selected to the 2025 Atlantic 10 All-Conference Second Team after contributing to five clean sheets and leading the Wildcats to a six-game shutout streak, a run which saw the program equal its second-longest winning streak in program history.

“We are excited to welcome Alonzo to FC Tulsa. We are adding a young, physical defender with good speed, great athleticism, and a strong head on his shoulders,” said FC Tulsa Sporting Director and General Manager Caleb Sewell. “We look forward to supporting Alonzo’s development and to his contributions toward our goals this season.”

In addition to his college career, Clarke spent three seasons competing in USL League Two, competing for Vermont Green FC (2023), the Long Island Rough Riders (2024), and Charlotte Independence II (2025). In the past campaign, Clarke recorded one goal in seven appearances for the Independence II to help the side reach the League Two Playoffs.
