BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Brooklyn Football Club announced on Friday it had made four new additions to its inaugural USL Championship squad, bringing aboard midfielder Arun Basuljevic, goalkeeper Jackson Lee, forward Stefan Stojanovic, and defender Thomas Vancaeyezeele. The transactions are pending league and federation approval.
Basuljevic most recently played for El Paso Locomotive during the 2023–2024 USL Championship seasons. A native of the Bronx, he began his professional career in New York with New York Red Bulls II in 2017, making 27 appearances and scoring his first professional goal in a 2–1 win against the Rochester Rhinos.
The following year he moved abroad, signing for Danish First Division side Fremad Amager and later Nyköpings BIS in Sweden, where he helped the club to a Svenska Cup upset of GIF Sundsvall. He returned to the USL Championship in 2019 with Fresno FC and went on to play for Oklahoma City Energy FC, Monterey Bay FC, and El Paso Locomotive, and has made 118 appearances in the league overall, recording seven goals and four assists.
Lee joins Brooklyn having most recently played for fellow USL Championship club Rhode Island FC. A native of Perth, Australia who holds dual-citizenship in the United States, he was selected in the First Round, 28th overall, of the 2024 MLS SuperDraft by Los Angeles FC, but elected to turn pro with RIFC. Over the past two season the 24-year-old has made 20 USL Championship appearances, recording 50 saves at a save percentage of 64.9 percent while notching four shutouts.
Before turning professional, Lee played collegiately at George Mason University, where he recorded 97 saves in 24 appearances over two seasons. He then transferred to West Virginia University, where he set the school record for most goalkeeper wins in a season with 17 and was voted to the United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region Second Team and All-Sun Belt Conference Second Team.
Stojanovic most recently competed for Las Vegas Lights FC in the USL Championship, having previously played professional in MLS NEXT Pro. The Chicago native recorded one goal and two assists for the Lights in 16 appearances after a midseason transfer from FC Tulsa, where in the 2024 season he recorded five goals and three assists in 34 appearances. The 24-year-old had previously competed for the Philadelphia Union II in MLSNP, where in 2023 he recorded 10 goals in 29 league appearances for Union II.
Vancaeyezeele joins Brooklyn after a second stint with the Tampa Bay Rowdies and brings extensive experience in the USL Championship over his career. The 31-year-old has recorded 183 appearances and 14,011 minutes across the regular season and playoffs since beginning his career 2018 with Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC, where he scored seven in in 88 appearances.
With the Hounds, the versatile defender and midfielder was named to the USL Championship All-League First Team in 2020, and followed his time in Pittsburgh with stints at San Diego Loyal SC, Birmingham Legion FC, Hartford Athletic and the Rowdies.
Vancaeyezeele has also earned 14 caps for French Guiana, appearing in the 2019–20 Concacaf Nations League, where he was twice voted to the All-Tournament Second Team. Most recently, he served as captain in the 2024 Concacaf Nations League campaign which also served as qualifying for the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup.
