BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Brooklyn Football Club announced on Friday the club had signed forward Juan Carlos “JC” Obregón ahead of its first season in the USL Championship. The transaction is pending league and federation approval.
Obregón joins Brooklyn after an outstanding 2025 campaign in USL League One for Westchester SC in which he claimed the Player of the Year award and Golden Boot after recording 17 goals in 29 appearances for the first-year club. The 28-year-old averaged a goal every 153.4 minutes for Westchester in league play while also notching a pair of assists in 2,608 minutes.
A native of New York who represents Honduras at the international level, Obregón brings extensive experience in the USL Championship to Brooklyn. Joining the professional ranks in 2019 with Rio Grande Valley FC, he has recorded 22 goals and three assists in 83 appearances in the league previously, including scoring 10 goals for Hartford Athletic in the 2021 campaign.
Obregón has spent the past two seasons in League One, featuring for the Charlotte Independence in the 2024 season. He recorded 15 goals in 21 appearances for the Jacks in the league campaign, averaging a goal every 123.6 minutes, and now is set to return to the second tier.
