JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Sporting Club Jacksonville announced on Tuesday it had signed defenders Edgardo Rito and Harvey Neville and midfielder Brem Soumaoro ahead of the club’s inaugural USL Championship season. The transactions are pending league and federation approval.
“Brem, Edgardo, and Harvey bring quality, experience, and professionalism,” said Sporting JAX Head Coach Liam Fox. “They fit the identity we’re building and will play an important role in establishing our standard from day one.”
Rito joins Jacksonville having most recently competed for Caracas F.C. in his native Venezuela on loan from the USL Championship’s Phoenix Rising FC. The 29-year-old had previously made 127 appearances in the Championship across the regular season and playoffs, earning All-League First Team honors with Oakland Roots SC in 2022 when he recorded five goals, seven assists and 39 chances created in helping the side reach the postseason.
An attacking wingback, Rito has recorded 10 goals and 13 assists in the Championship overall while averaging 5.33 recoveries/90 minutes and logging 88 tackles at a 57.9 percent success rate.
Soumaoro brings 11 years of professional experience across Europe and North America, including time with FC Twente, Go Ahead Eagles, Livorno Calcio, and most recently Indy Eleven, where he logged 16 appearances and 765 minutes of action across the past two seasons and posted an 84.9 passing accuracy rate while winning 36 duels and making 31 recoveries. The Liberian international has also earned 10 caps and competed in 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifying for the Lone Stars.
Neville joins having most recently competed for San Antonio FC to conclude the 2025 season on loan from Phoenix Rising FC. The 23-year-old has recorded 37 appearances in the USL Championship overall, including loan stints with Loudoun United FC and Sacramento Republic FC, recording 1,889 minutes of action and winning 82 duels and 67 recoveries.
