SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio FC announced on Friday the club had signed forward Christian Sorto to a multi-year contract ahead of the 2026 USL Championship season. The transaction is pending league and federation approval and per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Sorto joins San Antonio with seven seasons of professional experience in the league heading into 2026, having appeared for both Loudoun United FC and El Paso Locomotive FC during the 2025 campaign. With Locomotive, Sorto recorded three goals and 27 shots, logging a shooting accuracy rate of 57.9 percent, while also recording 13 chances created.

“Christian is a versatile attacking player that can play multiple positions in the forward line,” said SAFC Sporting Director Marco Ferruzzi. “He strikes and serves the ball with quality using both feet, presses hard defensively and has a high work rate. Experienced in the Championship and entering his prime, we are confident he will add to our performances, ambitions and culture.”

The 25-year-old has been a consistent presence in the USL Championship since turning pro with Loudoun United in the 2019 season. Sorto has also competed for Rio Grande Valley FC (2021), Miami FC (2022-23) and Orange County SC (2024), recording 17 goals and 14 assists in 7,325 minutes of action, logging 151 appearances across the regular season and playoffs.

On the international stage, Sorto has three caps representing the El Salvador national team, earning his first senior team call-up in 2021. The Silver Springs, Maryland native spent his youth career playing at D.C. United and Baltimore Armour.
