LEESBURG, Va. – Loudoun United FC announced on Wednesday club captain and midfielder Drew Skundrich’s addition to the club’s technical staff as Health and Performance Coach ahead of the 2026 USL Championship season as the 30-year-old retired from the professional ranks.
“I’m very excited and grateful to be staying in a professional environment with Loudoun United and joining the technical side as Performance Coach,” said Skundrich. “I can’t wait to continue building on what we created these last few years and impact the game in a new way.”
Skundrich recorded 212 career appearances and more than 15,000 minutes across his professional career in the USL Championship and Major League Soccer, playing for Loudoun United FC, Colorado Springs Switchbacks, D.C. United, Sacramento Republic FC, and Bethlehem Steel FC.
The former Stanford Cardinal was picked 40th overall by the LA Galaxy in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft, eventually signing with the Steel that same year. Over his final two seasons with Loudoun, he recorded 59 appearances, two goals, and one assist across all competitions and led the side to its first trip to the USL Championship Playoffs.
