USL Championship Announces 2025 All-League Teams

Louisville City leads all clubs with six selections, 14 players earn honor for first time in career

TAMPA, Fla. – The USL Championship announced the 2025 USL Championship All-League Teams on Thursday, honoring players for their standout regular season performances after a campaign which featured 14 first-time selections and eight returnees among the honorees.

2025 Players’ Shield winner Louisville City FC led all clubs with six selections, including five players on the First Team as goalkeeper Damian Las and defenders Kyle Adams, Josh Jones and Aiden McFadden were honored after the club’s outstanding defensive campaign. Midfielder Taylor Davila also earned his third consecutive All-League First Team honor, while defender Sean Totsch earned Second Team honors for the sixth overall selection of his career.

In addition to Davila and Totsch, five additional players return to the All-League Team from the 2024 campaign, led by First Team selections Aaron Molloy and Cal Jennings of the Charleston Battery after their roles for the league’s leading scorer in the 2025 regular season. Sacramento Republic FC’s Danny Vitiello and Jack Gurr and San Antonio FC’s Jorge Hernández, meanwhile, were voted to the All-League Second Team.

Four All-League selections could be in action this Saturday night in the Eastern and Western Conference Finals of the 2025 USL Championship Playoffs, with Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC’s Sean Suber, New Mexico United’s Talen Maples and FC Tulsa’s Taylor Calheira and Lamar Batista all set to be in action as they bid to lead their clubs into the 2025 USL Championship Final.

The 2025 USL Championship Awards were voted on by club management and a league-wide media panel that included representation from every USL market.

2025 USL Championship All-League First Team

GK – Damian Las, Louisville City FC (First Selection): In his second season with LouCity, Las earned the Golden Glove with a 0.70 goals-against average while leading all eligible goalkeepers with a save percentage of 80 percent on 72 saves. The Austin FC loanee also recorded 10 shutouts and a Goals Prevented mark of -2.38, conceding only 18 goals in 27 appearances over the regular season.

D – Kyle Adams, Louisville City FC (First Selection): LouCity’s captain produced a stellar all-around campaign, ranking second among defenders with 112 aerial duels won at a 70 percent success rate and a career high 159 duels won at a 66 percent success rate as the side became the first in the Championship’s regular season to allow fewer than 20 goals in a full season in a decade.

D – Joshua Jones, Louisville City FC (First Selection): A first-year pro out of the University of Louisville, Jones grew impressively over the course of the campaign while recording 130 clearances and winning 125 duels at a 68.7 percent success rate in 20 regular season appearances. Jones’ long throw-ins also became a potent weapon for LouCity as the club led the league with nine goals from throw-ins during the regular season.

D – Aiden McFadden, Louisville City FC (First Selection): One of the most versatile pieces in LouCity’s lineup, McFadden appeared in every regular season contest while recording four assists and 22 chances created while tying for 12th among defenders with 147 duels won. The 27-year-old also recorded 26 interceptions and won possession a team-high 10 times in the attacking third, earning a +4.54 Goals Added mark.

D – Sean Suber, Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC (First Selection): The third-year pro was a standout in the center of the Hounds’ defense as he led the league with 204 clearances and tied for the league-lead with 116 headed clearances while playing every minute of the regular season. Suber also won 75 aerial duels at a 65.3 percent success rate and ranked sixth in the league among defenders with a +5.41 Goals Added mark.

M – Taylor Davila, Louisville City FC (Third Selection): In his second season at LouCity, Davila produced another standout two-way campaign as he led outfield players with 190 recoveries while also recording four goals, nine assists and 55 chances created to help power the Players’ Shield winner. The 25-year-old also completed 21 dribbles at a 60 percent success rate and graded first among central midfielders with a +7.15 Goals Added mark.

M – Aaron Molloy, Charleston Battery (Fourth Selection): The Irish midfielder continued to shine at the center of the Battery’s midfield, completing a league-high 2,045 passes at a 90.9 percent success rate while recording two goals, six assists and 42 chances created in 29 appearances. Molloy also tied for third in the league with 153 recoveries and made 36 interceptions to earn his fourth consecutive First Team selection.

M – Juan David Torres, Charleston Battery (First Selection): The Colombian produced a standout campaign in which he ranked tied for second in the league with 10 assists and second with 61 chances created while also recording four goals for the Battery. Torres led the league with 91 shots and recorded 99 recoveries defensively to rank first among wingers with a +7.97 Goals Added mark over the campaign.

F – Taylor Calheira, FC Tulsa (First Selection): One of Tulsa’s major offseason additions, Calheira set a club single-season record with 15 goals while posting a 58.2 percent shooting accuracy rate and notching two assists on 35 chances created. The 23-year-old became the central figure in Tulsa’s rise in the Western Conference as he logged a league-high +11.11 Goals Added mark while leading the side to single-season records in wins and points.

F – Cal Jennings, Charleston Battery (Third Selection): The veteran forward maintained his position as one of the most prolific forwards in USL-C history, ranking second in goals with 17 tallies while setting a career single-season high with 23 goals contributions. Jennings recorded 89 shots and 30 chances created as part of the Battery’s league-leading attack while posting a +8.57 Goals Added mark in the regular season.

F – Peter Wilson, Oakland Roots SC (First Selection): The Liberian forward caught fire in the final third of the regular season to claim the USL Championship Golden Boot with 18 goals, scoring in each of his final eight appearances in the regular season to equal the league record for most consecutive games with a goal. An offseason arrival in Oakland, Wilson also logged five assists and 18 chances created while ranking second in the league with a +9.81 Goals Added mark.

2025 USL Championship All-League Second Team

GK – Danny Vitiello, Sacramento Republic FC (Third Selection): In his fourth campaign with Sacramento, Vitiello led the league with 12 shutouts in the regular season while posting a save percentage of 72.2 percent, good for second among Golden Glove-eligible goalkeepers. The 29-year-old also led the league with a -5.39 goals-prevented mark while playing every minute of the regular season campaign.

D – Lamar Batista, FC Tulsa (First Selection): An offseason addition, Batista helped the Scissortails’ ascent to the top of the Western Conference, ranking second among defenders in winning 176 duels at a 62.6 percent success rate while recording 164 clearances and 93 recoveries. The 6-foot-5 center back’s performance helped Tulsa set a club record over a full campaign as the side conceded only 30 goals in the regular season, smashing the previous mark by 16 goals.

D – Jack Gurr, Sacramento Republic FC (Third Selection): The English full back earned his third consecutive All-League selection after once again proving a stellar two-way threat for Republic FC. Gurr ranked second among defenders with 39 chances created and logged five assists, with Sacramento averaging a 0.8 goals-against average in contests he appeared compared to a 1.2 goals-against average when he was out of the lineup.

D – Talen Maples, New Mexico United (First Selection): In his second season with New Mexico, Maples produced a stellar all-around campaign, recording 94 clearances and 113 recoveries while ranking fourth among defenders winning possession 51 times in the central third of the field. United’s captain for much of the campaign, the 26-year-old also converted 7 of 7 penalty kicks and ranked second in the league with 1,769 completed passes, setting the tempo for the most possession-heavy team in the league.

D – Sean Totsch, Louisville City FC (Sixth Selection): Entering his second decade in the league, Totsch continued to write his legacy as one of its all-time greats. The center back became the first player to reach 300 regular season appearances in league history while winning 145 duels at a 60.7 percent success rate and 27 tackles at a 65.9 percent success rate. He also logged three goals, three assists and 15 chances created as a consistent threat on set piece opportunities.

M – Hope Avayevu, Phoenix Rising FC (First Selection): An offseason arrival in Phoenix, Avayevu shone brightly as he tied for second in the league with 10 assists on 50 chances created and recorded six goals while serving as Rising’s key midfield creator. The 23-year-old recorded 101 recoveries and 18 interceptions while posting an 80.9 percent passing accuracy rate, logging a +6.53 Goals Added mark.

M – Jorge Hernández, San Antonio FC (Fourth Selection): The Mexican playmaker posted another standout campaign in San Antonio, leading the club in both goals (11) and assists (6) while recording his second-best overall campaign in goal contributions in the league. Hernández played a direct role in 43.6 percent of SAFC’s regular season goals while also leading the league with 67 chances created and posting a 62.1 percent shooting accuracy rate.

M – Aodhan Quinn, Indy Eleven (Third Selection): In a season where he became the league’s all-time leader in regular season minutes, Quinn claimed the Golden Playmaker award for the first time with a league-leading 11 assists while also recording 40 chances created and three goals for the Boys in Blue. The 34-year-old also notched 93 recoveries and 15 interceptions as he moved into second place in the league’s all-time assists leaderboard.

F – Abdellatif Aboukoura, Loudoun United FC (First Selection): In a breakout season, the 21-year-old helped lead Loudoun United to its first postseason berth in club history with a team-high 12 goals and two assists that saw him equal the league record for goals in a single season by a player 21 and under. Aboukoura also posted a 65.1 percent shooting accuracy rate and completed a league-high 45 dribbles in a historic campaign for his club.

F – Francisco Bonfiglio, Miami FC (First Selection): The 23-year-old Argentine was among the offseason arrivals as Miami turned over a new leaf this year and delivered a standout season in attack, recording a club single-season high since it joined the Championship with 14 goals. Bonfiglio ranked second in the league with 90 shots and posted a 56.5 percent shooting accuracy rate while ranking third in the league with a +8.99 Goals Added mark.

F – MD Myers, Charleston Battery (First Selection): The versatile forward built on his stellar first campaign with the Battery as he ranked third in the league with 19 goal contributions, bagging 15 goals and four assists in the league’s best attacking unit. Myers’ 66 percent shooting accuracy rate was the highest in the league among players with double-digit goals as he posted 31 shots on target and 22 chances created for a +7.08 Goals Added mark.
