Switchbacks’ Lacroix, Metusala called up by Haiti for World Cup Qualifying

Defensive duo set for games against Costa Rica, Nicaragua with chance to advance from Group C

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC announced on Monday that defenders Duke Lacroix and Garven Metusala have been called up to represent the Haitian National Team for the country’s upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

Haiti currently sits in third place in Group C, three points behind first-place Honduras ahead of its final two games. Les Grenadiers will play their final two games in Curaçao, facing second-placed Costa Rica on Thursday night before completing the final stage against Nicaragua on Tuesday, Nov. 18.

Lacroix retains his place in Haiti’s squad having previously recorded 11 appearances for the country, including 10 starts. The veteran defender has recorded two goals and one assist across 941 minutes for the side. Most recently, Lacroix featured in Haiti’s World Cup Qualifying match against Nicaragua, where he played the full game and provided an assist in a key 3-0 victory.

Metusala has also been a consistent and reliable presence on the international stage. The center back has recorded 15 appearances, including 14 starts, totaling 1,138 minutes. His most recent appearance came against Honduras in the October window.
