Beto Ydrach scored the decisive goal in the fifth round of the penalty shootout to lead Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC to its first Eastern Conference Final before a club-record sellout crowd of 6,220 fans at Highmark Stadium. The Hounds had found the net in regulation, only for Augustine Williams’ header to be chalked off for a foul in the build-up, and in extra time Bertin Jacquesson hit the post before the game ended scoreless. After Detroit took an early advantage in the shootout, however, consecutive shots off the woodwork in the third and fourth rounds allowed Pittsburgh to rally, with Ydrach’s finish to close the fifth round sending the hosts through.

Albert Dikwa scored a pair of second-half goals to lead defending Eastern Conference title-holder Rhode Island FC past North Carolina FC at First Horizon Stadium. The hosts went closest to opening the scoring in the first half as Oalex Anderson hit the crossbar on the half-hour mark, while RIFC’s JJ Williams forced a good save by NCFC’s Oliver Semmle just past the hour-mark. Introduced with 15 minutes to go, however, Dikwa proved Rhode Island’s game-winner as he first headed home a cross by Noah Fuson in the 81st minute before sealing the result in stoppage time, completing his first postseason brace.

Stefan Lukić scored in the second minute of the second period of extra time to lift FC Tulsa to victory against Phoenix Rising FC before a club-record sellout crowd of 7,917 fans at ONEOK Field. In a tightly-fought game, chances proved few and far between in regulation and extra time but as a penalty shootout appeared unavoidable, a late free kick for the Scissortails set up an initial opportunity for Taylor Calheira, whose blocked shot looped into the right side of the penalty area where Lukić produced a composed volley into the upper-right corner for his second extra time game-winner in as many games.
