LOUISVILLE CITY SETS USL CHAMPIONSHIP SINGLE-SEASON POINTS-PER-GAME RECORD
Louisville City FC took a 1-0 victory against Hartford Athletic in its final game of the 2025 USL Championship regular season on Saturday night, and in the process set a single-season record for the most points-per-game in a full regular season in league history. LouCity’s 2.43ppg mark (73 points in 30 games) surpassed the previous mark of 2.38ppg set by Orlando City SC in the 2012 season, when the Lions took 57 points in 24 games.

With the victory, LouCity also recorded its first undefeated home regular season in club history, posting a 12-0-3 mark at Lynn Family Stadium. The side became the 10th to record an undefeated home slate in a full regular season all-time, and the first since Phoenix Rising FC and El Paso Locomotive FC both achieved the feat in the 2021 campaign.
Louisville City averaged 2.6 points per game at home, which ranks fourth all-time among undefeated home seasons, while extending its overall home regular season undefeated streak to 24 games. Orlando City SC’s 13-0-1 record remains the highest single-season mark in league history, as the Lions averaged 2.86ppg at home in its final regular season in the league.

Louisville City also became only the fourth team to complete a full USL Championship regular season suffering only one defeat, joining Orlando City SC in 2012, the Richmond Kickers in 2013 and the Rochester Rhinos in 2015. Of those three, only the Rhinos went on to win the USL Championship title.

Oakland Roots SC forward Peter Wilson claimed the USL Championship’s Golden Boot on Saturday night as he bagged his 18th goal of the regular season in Roots’ 3-0 victory against Lexington SC. The finish marked Wilson’s eighth consecutive game with a goal, equaling the USL Championship’s record for the most consecutive appearances with a goal, previously achieved by Hadji Barry during the 2018 season with Sporting Kansas City II.
The Liberian will get the opportunity to continue his streak in his first appearance of the 2026 USL Championship season.

Sacramento Republic FC goalkeeper Danny Vitiello posted his league-leading 12th shutout of the regular season last Wednesday night, posting a three-save performance in his side’s 1-0 victory against the Charleston Battery at Heart Health Park. In doing so, Vitiello moved into a three-way tie for the USL Championship’s all-time lead in regular season shutouts, joining New Mexico United’s Alex Tambakis and former Golden Glove winner Evan Newton on 58 shutouts in his regular season career.
Vitiello reached the mark in his 148th regular season appearance, averaging a shutout every 2.56 appearances in the league. The 29-year-old has recorded 44 shutouts for Republic FC in 114 appearances since joining the club prior to the 2022 season, and in Week 34 became the sixth goalkeeper to record at least 300 saves for an individual club in the USL Championship’s history.

No. 1 seed Louisville City FC plays host to No. 8 seed Detroit City FC in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals of the 2025 USL Championship Playoffs presented by Terminix on Saturday night, with the matchup setting a league record for the largest point differential between clubs in the league’s postseason history.
LouCity almost doubled Le Rouge’s point total in the regular season as it posted 73 points to Detroit’s 37 points, marking a 36-point differential between the clubs. The previous high had been a 34-point differential between the New York Red Bulls II – which set a then-league record with 69 points in the regular season – and Orlando City B.

- Louisville City FC’s Sean Totsch became the first player in USL Championship history to record 300 regular season appearances during his side’s 1-0 victory against Hartford Athletic on Saturday night. Totsch has made 257 regular season appearances for LouCity, which stands as the most for a club in the USL-C era.
- The Charleston Battery set a club record for the USL Championship era with its 19th victory of the regular season on Saturday night against Birmingham Legion FC. The Battery also equaled their all-time regular season wins record, previously achieved in the 2002 USL A-League season when it went 19-3-6.
- El Paso Locomotive FC’s Amando Moreno recorded the 50th regular season goal of his career in the USL Championship on Saturday night against San Antonio FC. The El Salvador international is the 33rd player to reach the landmark in league history and reached the mark in his 166th regular season game.
- Three players set club single-season records for goals during the 2025 USL Championship season, with FC Tulsa’s Taylor Calheira recording 15 goals, Miami FC’s Francisco Bonfiglio recording 14 goals and Hartford Athletic’s Kyle Edwards recording 12 goals in their respective campaigns.
- San Antonio FC’s Jorge Hernández recorded his 24th and 25th regular season assists for the club in its 5-2 victory against El Paso Locomotive FC on Saturday night. The 24-year-old is the 12th player to record at least 25 assists for one club in the USL Championship’s history.
- Indy Eleven’s Cam Lindley recorded his 100th regular season appearance for the Boys in Blue on Saturday night against Orange County SC. The Indiana native is the third player to reach the century mark for the club since it joined the USL Championship in 2018, following Ayoze García (120) and Karl Ouimette (100).
- Birmingham Legion FC fell 2-1 in its final game of the regular season against the Charleston Battery, suffering its fifth defeat when scoring the opening goal to move to 25 points dropped from winning positions overall in the campaign. The mark tied for the fifth-most in league history in a season, trailing Las Vegas Lights FC’s 28 points dropped in both the 2018 and 2021 seasons.
