USL Championship announces 2025 Golden Awards winners

Oakland Roots’ Peter Wilson earns Golden Boot, Louisville City’s Damian Las earns Golden Glove, Indy Eleven’s Aodhan Quinn wins Golden Playmaker

TAMPA, Fla. – The USL Championship announced on Sunday its Golden Awards for the 2025 regular season, honoring Oakland Roots SC’s Peter Wilson as the Golden Boot winner, Louisville City FC’s Damian Las as the Golden Glove winner, and Indy Eleven’s Aodhan Quinn as the Golden Playmaker winner as the league’s three individual statistical award honorees.

Wilson earned the Golden Boot with 18 goals in 28 regular season appearances, becoming the first Roots player to earn an individual award since the club joined the USL Championship in the 2021 season. An offseason arrival in Oakland, the Liberian forward averaged a goal every 124.4 minutes while ending the season on a remarkable eight-game scoring streak that saw Wilson score 11 goals to take the crown by one goal from the Charleston Battery’s Cal Jennings.

The 29-year-old’s eight-game scoring streak equaled a USL Championship record previously set by Hadji Barry, who recorded goals in eight consecutive games for Sporting Kansas City II in the 2018 season.

Las earned the Golden Glove for the first time as he posted a goals-against average of 0.70 to help power LouCity to its second consecutive USL Championship Players’ Shield title. The 23-year-old loanee from Austin FC recorded 10 shutouts and a save percentage of 80 percent on 72 saves while also recording a Goals Prevented mark of -2.38 as Louisville allowed only 19 goals in 30 regular season games, its lowest total in a full season in club history.

Quinn earned the Golden Playmaker award for the first time in his career as he recorded 11 assists for the latest achievement in his remarkable career in his USL Championship career. The league’s all-time leader in regular season minutes recorded his 11th assist of the season in the final game of the season as he became the first player in league history to record double-digit assists in a season for a third time, having previously accomplished the feat in 2018 with Orange County SC and 2021 with Phoenix Rising FC.

The 33-year-old’s 61 regular season assists now ranks second in league history to former Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC playmaker Kenardo Forbes on 66 assists, while Quinn stands as the only player in league history to have recorded at least 50 goals and 60 assists in regular season play.

Las is set to feature in the upcoming 2025 USL Championship Playoffs presented by Terminix, which kick off this Saturday night with the Eastern and Western Conference Quarterfinals. Full details of the bracket and schedule for the opening weekend of games can be found here.

The 2025 USL Championship Golden Boot, Golden Glove and Golden Playmaker are the opening three awards that will be presented by the league this year. The Championship’s Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, Defender of the Year, Goalkeeper of the Year, and the USL Championship All-League Teams will be announced in November.
