Orange County's Chris Hegardt voted Player of the Week with three-assist performance

TAMPA, Fla. – The USL Championship today announced the Team of the Week for Week 32 of the 2025 regular season, with Orange County SC midfielder Chris Hegardt voted Player of the Week presented by Konami eFootball with three assists in a 3-3 road draw against New Mexico United.

In front of over 8,000 fans at Isotopes Park, Hegardt dished out three assists in half an hour to help Orange County escape Albuquerque with a point. Hegardt's three-goal-contribution outburst marked the third such performance of the 23-year-old's career after a one-goal, two-assist performance for Stabæk Fotball in the NM Cup (2024) and a one-goal, two-assist showing for the Charlotte Independence in USL League One (2022). 

The USL Championship Player of the Week is selected by the USL National Media Panel, which is made up of representatives from each media market in the Championship. Hegardt finished with 44%, while Rhode Island's J.J. Williams finished second on 33%.

GK – Sebastián Mora-Mora, El Paso Locomotive FC: The Mexican goalkeeper made six saves in his side's 2-1 road victory against Lexington on Saturday. Mora-Mora also added nine recoveries and completed nine passes.

D – Lamar Batista, FC Tulsa: In a 2-0 victory against San Antonio, Batista scored against his former team to help Tulsa secure a first-place finish in the Western Conference. The veteran defender recorded nine clearances, won nine duels, completed 78% of his passes, added three recoveries and completed both of his dribbles.

D – Adrián Diz Pe, Hartford Athletic: The former Cuba international stood out in Hartford's 3-1 midweek victory in Oakland, totaling 17 clearances, 10 duels won, six accurate long balls, five recoveries, three tackles won and three fouls earned.

D – Sean Suber, Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC: Suber scored his first goal of the season, lifting Pittsburgh to a 2-1 victory against Indy with a 76th-minute winner. The 24-year-old also recorded 12 clearances, completed 60% of his passes, connected on five long passes and won four duels.

M – Chris Hegardt, Orange County SC: Hegardt tallied three assists in a single match for the first time in his professional career, guiding Orange County to a 3-3 draw in New Mexico. The 23-year-old finished with a 74% passing accuracy rate, seven duels won, five total chances created, three completed dribbles, three fouls won and two clearances.

M – Jack Panayotou, Hartford Athletic: The New England Revolution loanee dished out a pair of assists in Hartford's midweek victory against Oakland. Across a pair of Week 32 matches and 106 minutes, Panayotou completed 74% of his passes, totaled five recoveries, won three duels, and connected on two long passes.

M – Stephen Kelly, Orange County SC: The Rangers Academy product scored his first Orange County goal, finishing with an 84% passing accuracy rate, five chances created, five completed crosses, four clearances, four recoveries, four duels won and three shots on target.

M – Sebastian Anderson, Hartford Athletic: The Sacramento, Calif. native enjoyed a strong performance against Sacramento, helping Hartford to a 3-2 victory with a goal, an 86% passing accuracy rate, six duels won, three tackles won, two chances created, and two fouls won.

F – Tristan Trager, Orange County SC: Trager scored his first goals for Orange County via the fifth brace of his professional career, helping Orange County secure a 3-3 road draw against New Mexico. Across 74 minutes, the 26-year-old completed 67% of his passes, added three recoveries and won three duels. 

F – J.J. Williams, Rhode Island FC: Williams went off against his former side, pacing Rhode Island to a 5-0 victory against Tampa Bay with a brace and an assist in 45 minutes of action. The 27-year-old completed 82% of his passes, won four duels, placed both of his shots on target, completed a pair of dribbles, connected on both of his long balls and added two recoveries.

F – Greg Hurst, New Mexico United: In New Mexico's 3-3 draw against Orange County, Hurst bagged the fifth brace of his New Mexico career. The 28-year-old Scottish goalscorer also completed 74% of his passes, created five total chances, won three duels, won two tackles and placed both of his shots on target.

Coach – Brendan Burke, Hartford Athletic: Burke has his Hartford side in third place in the Eastern Conference following a six-point Week 32, which featured a 3-1 win in Oakland and a 3-2 home victory against Sacramento.
