EL PASO, Texas – El Paso Locomotive FC announced on Monday that goalkeeper Jahmali Waite had been named to the 25-man roster for Jamaica for a pair of FIFA 2026 World Cup Qualifying matches this week.
Jamaica will face Curaçao on Friday night at 7 p.m. ET at Ergilio Hato Stadium in Willemstad, Curaçao and then host Bermuda at Independence Park, Kingston, Jamaica on Tuesday, Oct. 14 at 8 p.m. ET as it continues its bid to reach next summer’s World Cup.
Waite has appeared in 17 matches for the Reggae Boyz and has kept eight clean sheets. He started both of Jamaica’s qualifying matches in September, recording two shutouts as the side took a 2-0 victory against Trinidad and Tobago and a 4-0 victory against Bermuda to put the side atop Group B in the final phase of World Cup Qualifying.
The Jamaican national team has four remaining matches between now and mid-November. They find themselves in Group B alongside Bermuda, Curaçao and Trinidad and Tobago. The three group winners will automatically qualify for the 2026 World Cup while the two best runners-up will feature in the FIFA Play-Off Tournament.
