TAMPA, Fla. – The USL Championship today announced the Team of the Week for Week 31 of the 2025 regular season, with Miami FC forward Tobías Zárate voted Player of the Week presented by Konami eFootball with a match-winning brace against Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC.
After scoring in the U.S. Open Cup and USL Jägermeister Cup earlier this season, the CA Vélez Sarsfield youth product and first-year Miami forward scored in the USL Championship for the first time, helping Miami snap a 16-match winless stretch with an 11-minute brace to secure a comeback victory against Pittsburgh.
"Very happy," Zárate said after the victory. "Very happy for having scored goals, but more than anything, because the team won after so long. I think we have been training very, very hard, and we couldn't get the victory, but finally, at the last game at home, it was possible. So happy."
"There was joy for the group because the results up until now hadn't compared to how we'd been playing and working," said Miami head coach Gastón Maddoni. "Today, we were able to finish off a great match. After a very bad first half, we managed to turn it around, and now it's time to celebrate. There's still a lot ahead, it's all a learning process, and we have to keep going."
The USL Championship Player of the Week is selected by the USL National Media Panel, which is made up of representatives from each media market in the Championship. Zárate finished with 64%, while Tulsa's Jamie Webber finished second on 18%.
