Sacramento Republic FC's Chibi Ukaegbu (left), Orange County SC's Bryce Jamison (center) and Hartford Athletic's Owen Presthus (right) have been called up to the United States U-20s training camp in Spain.
A trio of current USL Championship players have been named to the United States U-20 Men’s National Team squad selected by Head Coach Rob Valentino for training camp from Oct. 6-15 in San Pedro del Pinatar, Spain.
Sacramento Republic FC defender Chibi Ukaegbu, Hartford Athletic midfielder Owen Presthus and Orange County SC forward Bryce Jamison were selected in the 20-player squad, with the side set to face Finland U-21 National Team on Friday, Oct. 10 and Elche B on Tuesday, Oct. 14.
Ukaegbu has made 14 appearances in the USL Championship this season, logging a career-high 721 minutes of play. The Republic FC Academy product is in his second season in the pro ranks, and has recorded 12 interceptions, 26 recoveries and 34 clearances this campaign. The call-up marks his third to the U.S. U-20s this season, with the 18-year-old eligible for the next cycle building toward the 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
Jamison has recorded two goals and three assists in 19 appearances this season as he continues to build an impressive resume in the Championship. The 19-year-old has recorded nine goals and seven assists in his four seasons at Orange County since turning pro, and earlier this season was transferred to the Colorado Rapids of Major League Soccer before returning on loan to OCSC.
Presthus has recorded three appearances this season for Hartford after arriving on loan from Columbus Crew 2 in August. The 19-year-old bagged his first goal for Athletic in his debut for the side as he earned Player of the Match honors in a 3-0 victory against regional rival Rhode Island FC.
