Orange County’s Guimaraes, Legion’s Hamouda selected to U.S. U-17s squad

Duo set for final camp before squad selection for FIFA U-17 World Cup in November

Orange County SC defender Pedro Guiamaraes and Birmingham Legion FC defender Ramiz Hamouda have each been selected in the United States U-17 Men’s National Team training camp that will be held between October 6-10 at McCurry Park in Fayetteville, Ga.

The camp is the team’s last gathering before U.S. U-17s Head Coach Gonazlo Segares selects his final 21-player roster for the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup this November in Qatar., which will see the United States face Burkina Faso (Nov. 5), Tajikistan (Nov. 8) and Czechia (Nov. 11) in Group I. 

Both players have featured regularly for their clubs this season, with Guimaraes having made 17 appearances and logged 903 minutes in the USL Championship regular season for OCSC. The versatile left back has recorded two goals and one assist in league play while posting an 86.8 percent passing accuracy rate. Guimaraes has also recorded 34 recoveries, 26 clearances and six interceptions defensively while winning 12 tackles at a 62.3 percent success rate.

Hamouda has recorded 13 appearances for Legion, logging 948 minutes of action on the back line. The center back has recorded 56 clearances, 34 recoveries and 10 interceptions while winning 15 tackles at a 65.2 percent success rate and 55 duels at a 52.4 percent success rate. Hamouda has also logged an 85.7 percent passing accuracy rate and notched a pair of chances created.

Both Guimaraes and Hamouda were previously part of the United States U-17 Men’s National Team squad that qualified for the upcoming FIFA U-17 World Cup, each finding the net once as the side won three games out of three to advance from its group in Honduras.
