Which playmaker earns your vote for Player of the Month?

TAMPA, Fla. – The USL Championship today announced the nominees for the USL Championship Player of the Month presented by Konami eFootball for September, honoring four of the top performers through the seventh month of the 2025 season.

Voting for the Championship Player of the Month award will be conducted by the following three voting bodies:

  • A fan vote on USLChampionship.com will comprise 51% of the poll. The fan vote will run through Monday, Oct. 6, at 12 p.m. ET.
  • The USL Technical Committee's ballots comprise 25% of the poll.
  • The USL National Media Panel’s ballots comprise 24% of the poll.

The award winner and complete voting results will be announced on Thursday, Oct. 9.

Please note: The Championship Player of the Month selection process in no way is tied directly to the voting and selection process of End of the Year awards, such as Championship Player of the Year or position players of the year. Additionally, the selection process takes both USL Championship and USL Jägermeister Cup matches into consideration.

USL Championship PLAYER OF THE MONTH NOMINEES – September

  • F - Peter Wilson, Oakland Roots SC: Wilson recorded a league-high five goals in three appearances, averaging a goal every 44.8 minutes, while posting a 66.7% shooting accuracy rate, a 55.6% shot conversion rate and a +1.42 goals added mark.

  • F - Cal Jennings, Charleston Battery: Jennings recorded four goals in four games to move into the lead in the USL Championship Golden Boot race, averaging a goal every 82.8 minutes, while posting a league-high +2.86 goals added mark over the month and recording a 62.5% shooting accuracy rate and 25% shot conversion rate.

  • M - Jorge Hernández, San Antonio FC: Hernández was tied for the league-lead in goal contributions with three goals and two assists in four appearances, recording a shooting accuracy rate of 71.4% and shot conversion rate of 42.9%, while leading the league with 16 chances created over the month.

  • D - Paul Marie, Tampa Bay Rowdies​​​​​​​: Marie recorded three goals and two assists in five appearances to tie for the most goal contributions on the month after his arrival in Tampa Bay, posting a 62.5% shooting accuracy rate and 30% shot conversion rate while recording four chances created.
