Phoenix's Charlie Dennis voted Player of the Week following two-goal performance

TAMPA, Fla. – The USL Championship today announced the Team of the Week for Week 30 of the 2025 regular season, with Phoenix Rising FC midfielder Charlie Dennis voted Player of the Week presented by Konami eFootball with a brace.

The English playmaker scored a pair of goals, including a spectacular second-half free kick to spark Rising's comeback in a 3-3 draw against Oakland Roots SC, and had six shots and six chances created while completing 26 of 34 passes at a rate of 76%.

"Disappointing to start like that," Dennis said. "Again, we come back from three goals, which isn't easy. It shows what we got in the locker room, the character, the fight, that we're never going to give up.

"The only people who are going to turn the game around are the boys who are out on the pitch, so it's up to us to take that responsibility. We're a team, so if someone makes a mistake, it's up to the rest of us to pick them up and get us back in the game."

"It's very simple, it's either you want it or you don't want it, and he wants it every time," Phoenix head coach Pa Modou Kah said of Dennis. "Whether it's for one minute or 90 minutes, he wants it. And this means a lot to Charlie as well. Today, he walked on the pitch with his daughter. I know what it means for him [to represent Rising.] Every time we call his number, he stands up, and that showcases character."
