TAMPA, Fla. – The USL Championship today announced the nominees for the USL Championship Player of the Month presented by Konami eFootball for August, honoring four of the top performers through the sixth month of the 2025 season.

Voting for the Championship Player of the Month award will be conducted by the following three voting bodies:

• A fan vote on USLChampionship.com will comprise 51% of the poll. The fan vote will run through Monday, Sept. 8, at 12 p.m. ET.
• The USL Technical Committee's ballots comprise 25% of the poll.
• The USL National Media Panel’s ballots comprise 24% of the poll.

The award winner and complete voting results will be announced on Thursday, Sept. 11.

Please note: The Championship Player of the Month selection process in no way is tied directly to the voting and selection process of End of the Year awards such as Championship Player of the Year or position players of the year. Additionally, the selection process takes both USL Championship and USL Jägermeister Cup matches into consideration.

USL Championship PLAYER OF THE MONTH NOMINEES – August

• M - Rodrigo López, Sacramento Republic FC: López recorded two goals and three assists in four appearances across the month, averaging a goal contribution every 46.2 minutes, while logging seven chances created.

• M - Jansen Wilson, Louisville City FC: Wilson recorded four goals and one assist across five contests as LouCity went undefeated in the month, averaging a goal every 107.8 minutes while posting a shot conversion rate of 30.8% and a shooting accuracy rate of 66.7%.

• F - Kyle Edwards, Hartford Athletic: Edwards recorded three goals and one assist across five appearances, including a goal and assist in Athletic's first victory against Rhode Island FC, and averaged a goal every 63.3 minutes while posting a shooting accuracy rate of 71.4%.

• M - Gabriel Torres, El Paso Locomotive FC: Torres recorded two goals and two assists in five appearances as Locomotive compiled an undefeated month, ranking third in the league with 14 chances created while posting a 57.1 shooting accuracy rate on nine shots overall.
