COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC announced on Friday the club had acquired midfielder Cole Mrowka on loan from Columbus Crew SC of Major League Soccer for the remainder of the 2025 USL Championship season.

Mrowka returns to the Switchbacks for a second consecutive season. During a loan stint with the club in the 2024 campaign, the 19-year-old appeared in 10 matches, recording 346 minutes across the regular season and playoffs. He was instrumental in the Switchbacks’ run to the club’s first USL Championship title, recording an assist on the game-winning goal in the Western Conference Semifinal.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Cole back to the club,” said Switchbacks Sporting Director Stephen Hogan. “His impact last season was instrumental in securing a championship, and we’re eager to see him back on the field showcasing his talent. His intelligence and quick decision-making on the ball made it an easy choice to strengthen our midfield with him once again.”

A graduate of the Crew Academy, Mrowka has made three appearances for the club this season across all competitions while also logging seven appearances for Columbus Crew 2 in MLS NEXT Pro.
