Tampa Bay Rowdies’ Nate Worth joins U.S. U-18s squad for UEFA Friendship Cup

ATLANTA – U.S. Soccer announced on Friday the addition of Tampa Bay Rowdies midfielder Nate Worth to the United States U-18 Men’s National Team for the upcoming UEFA Friendship Cup in Switzerland.

Worth joins Sacramento Republic FC midfielder Blake Willey as the second representative from the USL Championship selected for the tournament, which opens on Sunday with a contest against France on June 1. The side will then face Argentina (June 4) and Australia (June 7) before facing a final opponent from the tournament’s other four-team group on June 10 based on group results.

Having turned 18 this past February, Worth is eligible for the next cycle for the United States U-20 Men’s National Team which will seek to compete in the 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

A native of New Jersey, Worth signed his first professional contract at 15 and has represented the U.S. at various age levels throughout his career. He has played a handful of matches for the U.S. U-15, U-16, and U-19 squads. He scored his first international goal while captaining the U-15s in a match against Portugal in May of 2022.

Since joining the Rowdies in May last year, Worth has made 30 appearances and tallied one goal across all competitions.
