ATLANTA – Birmingham Legion FC’s Ramiz Hamouda and Orange County SC’s Pedro Guimaraes have been selected for the United States U-17 Men’s National Team, part of a 20-player squad picked by Head Coach Gonzalo Segares for the team’s international training camp to be held from June 2-10 in Valencia, Spain.
The United States will play three friendly matches against Sweden (June 5), Canada (June 7) and Japan (June 10) during the trip as it continues to prepare for the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup this fall in Qatar.
Both Hamouda and Guimaraes were part of the United States U-17s squad that qualified for the World Cup earlier this year in Concacaf U-17 qualifiers in Costa Rica. Since then, both players have featured regularly for their respective USL Championship clubs in the opening three months of the current campaign.
Hamouda has recorded eight appearances and logged 652 minutes in the Championship for Legion this season, recording 42 clearances and 26 recoveries from his center back position. The 16-year-old has also completed 395 passes at an 88.4 percent accuracy rate, won nine tackles at a 60 percent success rate and 41 duels at a 57.8 percent success rate.
Guimaraes has been ever-present in the current U-17 cycle while also making five appearances and logging 341 minutes for Orange County in the Championship this season. The versatile left-sided defender has recorded three chances created and completed 130 passes at an 83.9 percent success rate this season while also making 10 recoveries, nine clearances and winning six tackles at a 75 percent success rate.
