TAMPA, Fla. – The USL Championship today announced the nominees for the USL Championship Player of the Month presented by Konami eFootball for March, honoring four of the top performers through the second month of the 2025 season.
Voting for the Championship Player of the Month award will be conducted by the following three voting bodies:
A fan vote on USLChampionship.com will comprise 51% of the poll. The fan vote will run through Monday, May 5 at 12 p.m. ET.
The USL Technical Committee's ballots comprise 25% of the poll.
The USL National Media Panel’s ballots comprise 24% of the poll.
The award winner and complete voting results will be announced on Thursday, May 8.
Please note: The Championship Player of the Month selection process in no way is tied directly to the voting and selection process of End of the Year awards such as Championship Player of the Year or position players of the year. Additionally, the selection process takes both USL Championship and USL Jägermeister Cup matches into consideration.
GK - Nico Campuzano, Monterey Bay FC: The newly arrived shot-stopper posted a league-high 17 saves across four appearances in April, allowing only two goals and recording two shutouts for a save percentage of 89.5% and a -1.9 goals-prevented mark.
F - MD Myers, Charleston Battery: Myers recorded three goals and one assist in three appearances in the Championship, averaging a goal every 66.7 minutes while posting a shooting accuracy rate of 50% on six shots to help the Battery take three consecutive league wins.
F - Darren Smith, Detroit City FC: The South African forward recorded five goals across the USL Championship and USL Jägermeister Cup, averaging a goal every 54 minutes as he scored on five of six shots over the month, an 83.3% conversion rate.
F - Peter Wilson, Oakland Roots SC: The Liberia international recorded one goal and two assists in three league appearances, helping Roots to consecutive victories, and posted a league-high 1.73 goals-added mark over the course of the month, per American Soccer Analysis.
