Lexington SC acquires forward Forster Ajago on loan from Real Salt Lake

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Lexington SC announced on Tuesday it had acquired forward Forster Ajago on loan from Real Salt Lake of Major League Soccer. The Ghanaian striker will join the USL Championship side for the remainder of the 2025 season, pending league and federation approval.

Ajago was selected by Real Salt Lake in Stage One of the 2024 MLS Re-Entry Draft after spending the previous season with Nashville SC. He is currently under contract with RSL through the 2025 MLS season, with club options for 2026 and 2027.

The 23-year-old had previously recorded two goals in eight appearances for RSL this season, finding the net in both the Concacaf Champions Cup against Herediano and Major League Soccer against Seattle Sounders FC early in the second.

Most recently, Ajago featured for reserve side Real Monarchs, making three appearances for the side in MLS NEXT Pro.

Ajago’s professional career began with Nashville SC in 2024, where he scored twice in 15 appearances for the side, logging both goals in the Concacaf Champions Cup against Moca FC. A ntive of Navrongo, Ghana, Ajago enjoyed a standout collegiate career, recording 28 goals across 58 appearances with Delaware, Dayton, and Duke. With the Blue Devils, he earned United Soccer Coaches All-America Second Team honors in 2023 after a 14-goal senior season.
