REPUBLIC FC’S RUSSELL CICERONE CONTINUES RISE IN RANKS
Sacramento Republic FC’s Russell Cicerone recorded a goal and an assist in the same game for the 12th time in the USL Championship’s regular season on Saturday night against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC. In turn, the veteran forward moved to 63 goals and 25 assists in the Championship’s regular season for his career, becoming only the seventh player to record at least 60 goals and 25 assists in the league’s history.

Birmingham Legion FC’s Ronaldo Damus recorded his 40th goal in the USL Championship’s regular season on Saturday afternoon in Legion’s 2-2 draw against Detroit City FC, reaching the mark in his 93rd regular season contest following prior stints with Orange County SC, San Diego Loyal SC and Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC.
The Haitian international currently ranks 15th in strike rate among players who have recorded at least 40 regular season goals in the league, averaging a goal every 169.9 minutes. Damus is currently aiming for his fourth consecutive season in the league with double-digit goals, something that has only previously been achieved by current Charleston Battery forward Cal Jennings.

FC Tulsa will try to earn its first victory against Sacramento Republic FC in club history this Friday night when the teams meet at ONEOK Field, offering the chance to end a 14-game winless mark in the series. That mark stands as the most games in a series without a victory in the USL Championship’s history, with Republic FC having accumulated a 9-0-5 record in meetings between the two clubs in the league’s regular season.
Among active series in the Championship, North Carolina FC’s run of eight games without a victory against the Charleston Battery ranks second in the list, with the Southern Derby rivals also set to meet this weekend at First Horizon Stadium. The Battery have gone 4-0-4 against NCFC over the latter’s two stints in the Championship, including a 1-0-1 mark a season ago.
