DETROIT – Detroit City FC announced on Wednesday the club had signed midfielder Ryan Williams to a new one-year contract for the 2025 USL Championship season. Williams will be available for selection in Le Rouge’s home opener against Birmingham Legion FC this Saturday.

Williams joined Detroit City FC last season and worked his way into being a key member of the 2024 squad that finished third place in the USL Championship’s Eastern Conference. The 33-year-old appeared in 23 matches and made 11 starts. Last season, Williams ranked in the top five for Detroit City FC in passing accuracy (82.2%) and was the dedicated dead-ball specialist whenever he was on the field.
