ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – New Mexico United announced on Tuesday the club had signed forward Thomas Amang ahead of the 2025 USL Championship season. The transaction is pending league and federation approval.

Amang joins New Mexico having spent the past two seasons with fellow USL Championship club Orange County SC, where he recorded 15 goals and three assists in 47 appearances. The 27-year old recorded six goals in 1,029 minutes of action during the 2024 campaign, helping the side reach the Western Conference Semifinals of the USL Championship Playoffs.

“Thomas has been a serial goal scorer wherever he has played,” said New Mexico United Sporting Director Itamar Keinan. “We’re excited to welcome a player of his talent level and dedication to our club, and can’t wait to see what he will accomplish on and off the pitch for the Black & Yellow in 2025.”

Prior to joining Orange County, Amang had previously posted a career-best campaign in 2022 when he recorded 11 goals and two assists in 32 appearances for San Diego Loyal SC. He also notched three goals in 13 appearances for Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC during the 2021 campaign, giving the Cameroonian 29 goals and six assists in 92 appearances overall in the league.
