DETROIT – Detroit City FC announced on Thursday the club had acquired forward Ates Diouf on loan from fellow USL Championship club Lexington SC for the 2025 USL Championship season. The transaction is pending league and federation approval.

Diouf has spent the past two seasons with Lexington SC, earning All-USL League One honors each season. In 2023, he recorded 15 goals to earn League One All-League First Team honors for 2023 before adding 10 goals across League One and USL Jagermeister Cup play in the 2024 campaign to take a spot on the All-League Second Team.

A native of Dakar, Senegal, Diouf had previously competed in the USL Championship for San Antonio FC, where he logged 11 appearances and 412 minutes during the 2022 season. The 24-year-old spent the prior two seasons at Austin Bold FC, where he recorded five goals and five assists in 38 appearances.
