INDIANAPOLIS – Indy Eleven announced on Tuesday it had acquired goalkeeper Hunter Sulte on loan from Portland Timbers FC of Major League Soccer for the upcoming USL Championship season. The transaction is pending league and federation approval.
Sulte returns to Indy having made 27 appearances for the club on loan in the 2024 USL Championship campaign. Sulte recorded 77 saves and a save percentage of 69.1 percent across the regular season and playoffs while recording nine shutouts and a 1.91 Goals Prevented mark.
The 22-year-old’s campaign was highlighted by 10-match unbeaten streak (9-0-1) in all competitions from April 20 through June 15, 2024 in which he recorded five shutouts, including consecutive shutouts in his first two Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup games.
A native of Anchorage, Alaska, Sulte joined the Timbers as a Homegrown signing ahead of the 2021 MLS season. He recorded 28 appearances in MLS NEXT Pro for the Timbers 2 over two seasons, recording 99 saves at a save percentage of 57.3 percent and one shutout.
