MIAMI – Miami FC announced on Thursday the club had signed forward Ricardo Rivera ahead of the 2025 USL Championship season. The transaction is pending league and federation approval.
Rivera joins Miami having spent the past campaign with Universidad O&M in the Dominican Republic with Universidad O&M. The 27-year-old recorded six goals and three assists for the side in 33 appearances as it reached the final of the 2024 Liga Dominicana de Fútbol Playoffs.

A native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, Rivera previously competed for Union Omaha in USL League One, where he was part of the squad that claimed both the 2021 League One title and Players’ Shield. Over two seasons he recorded one goal and one assist in 21 appearances, logging 13 chances created in 536 minutes of action.
Rivera has also featured regularly for the Puerto Rico Men’s National Team, recording 18 goals and five assists in 32 appearances for El Huracan Azul. Most recently he recorded two goals and one assist in six appearances as the country competed in the 2024-25 Concacaf Nations League B, scoring against Sint Maarten and Aruba in the group.
