INDIANAPOLIS – Indy Eleven announced on Thursday it had added goalkeeper Ryan Hunsucker and defender Maverick McCoy to its First Team roster as USL Academy signings ahead of the 2025 USL Championship season. Per club policy, terms of the deal will not be disclosed, and the transactions are pending league and federation approval.
Hunsucker will enter his first season as a USL Academy signing having played a notable role as Indy earned the 2024 USL Academy League Finals title at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. this past December. The 6-foot-3 shot-stopper put in an 11-save performance in the Final against AC Connecticut to help Indy claim the Academy League Finals title for a second time in four years.
The University of Indiana commit was named to the All-Tournament Second Team for his overall performance at the event. He had previously earned the Golden Glove and Young Player of the Tournament award at the 2024 USL Academy Cup earlier in the year.
McCoy returns for his second year as a USL Academy signing after being selected to the First Team’s gameday squad on four occasions during the 2024 USL Championship season. He also played a key role as Indy earned the USL Academy League Finals title this past December, and joined Hunsucker on the All-Tournament Second Team.
USL Academy contracts allow players to train and compete in the USL Championship and USL League One while retaining their NCAA eligibility. Since 2019, Indy Eleven has signed 23 players to USL Academy contracts, making the club one of the premier player development destinations in the USL Championship.
The Boys in Blue signed Academy-product Logan Neidlinger to his first professional contract in October after he had previously been on a USL Academy Contract throughout the campaign.
