LEXINGTON, Ky. – Lexington SC announced on Thursday it had acquired defender Daniel Wu via transfer from USL League One club Greenville Triumph SC ahead of the 2025 USL Championship season. The transaction is pending league and federation approval.

Wu joins Lexington having spent the past two seasons with Triumph, where he made 44 appearances across all competitions. The 24-year-old logged 901 minutes of action in 13 appearances in League One during the 2024 campaign, posting a passing accuracy rate of 93.8 percent while winning 51 duels at a 56.7 percent success rate and 15 interceptions.

He also made seven appearances in the USL Jägermeister Cup, logging 227 minutes of action.

“I’m very excited to join Lexington Sporting Club,” said Wu. “There's a strong belief within the club to win as well as play a style of football enjoyable for the fans. I will give my all on and off the field to honor the belief the club has placed in me.”

Prior to joining the professional ranks, Wu came through the North Carolina FC academy, where he captained the team for two years. He went on to play at Georgetown University, making 59 appearances while earning Big East Defensive Player of the Year and All-Big East First Team honors in 2022.
