LEXINGTON, Ky. – Lexington SC announced on Monday the club had signed defender Joshua Ramsey ahead of the club’s debut season in the USL Championship. The transaction is pending league and federation approval.
Ramsey joins Lexington SC following the completion of his career at the University of Notre Dame, where the Plano, Texas native made 80 appearances across four seasons for the Fighting Irish.
The 22-year-old was voted to the 2021 Atlantic Coast Conference All-Freshman Team as the side won the ACC Tournament and advanced to the Semifinals of the 2021 College Cup. He was also a central figure as the side reached the College Cup Final in 2023 before falling to Clemson University.
“I’m extremely excited to begin my professional career with Lexington SC,” said Ramsey. “Ready to go to work for this club and this city.”
Prior to joining Notre Dame, Ramsey made one appearance in the USL Championship for San Antonio FC, joining the club as a USL Academy signing, making his debut in the league against OKC Energy FC on September 19, 2020.
