HOUSTON – Offseason newcomer Alex Crognale was among the goalscorers as San Antonio FC played to a 2-2 draw in its first preseason outing of the year against Houston Dynamo FC of Major League Soccer at the Houston Sports Park on Saturday afternoon.
San Antonio featured a handful of offseason arrivals in the opening half as Alexis Souahy, Juan Sebastian Osorio and Nicky Hernandez were included alongside regulars such as Mitchell Taintor, Jorge Hernandez and Juan Agudelo.
The Dynamo took a first-half lead as Griffin Dorsey found the net, but San Antonio hit back early in the second half as Crognale – leading a second unit made up primarily of trialists – headed home from a corner.
One of San Antonio’s trialists then put the side ahead in the 57th minute before the Dynamo leveled the game late on through Erik Dueñas, ending the game all square.
San Antonio FC will continue its preseason next Saturday when it hosts University of the Incarnate Word in a closed-door friendly.
