ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – New Mexico United announced on Thursday it had signed versatile defender Chris Gloster to a new contract ahead of the 2025 USL Championship season. The transaction is pending league and federation approval.
Gloster joined United prior to the past campaign 2024, and was a solid defensive contributor in his first season with the club. The 24-year-old made 31 appearances across the regular season and playoffs, logging 24 interceptions and 117 recoveries while winning 110 duels at a 54.2 percent success rate and 23 tackles at a 71.9 percent success rate.
A native of Montclair, N.J., Gloster came through the New York Red Bulls Academy and made his debut in the Championship as a 16-year-old during the 2016 season. A former United States U-20 international, Gloster headed to Europe early in his career, competing for Hannover 96 in Germany and PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands before returning to sign with New York City FC in 2021.
Gloster made 15 appearances for NYCFC over two seasons before moving to the Atlanta United organization in 2023, where he made seven appearances for Atlanta United 2 in MLS NEXT Pro before his move to New Mexico.
