CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Charleston Battery announced on Thursday the club had re-signed forward Jackson Conway ahead of the 2025 USL Championship season. The transaction is pending league and federation approval.

Conway appeared in 32 matches across all competitions for the Battery in 2024 and scored four goals during the club’s run to the Eastern Conference Final of the USL Championship Playoffs.

“What brought me back the most was the bright future, the people and the club here in Charleston,” said Conway. “The connection I’ve built with everyone around me is unmatched to anywhere I’ve been before and it makes fighting for this club and these fans an honor.

“I do feel there’s some unfinished business. This team has everything it takes to compete at the top level and we showed that last year. The squad is a playoff and championship contender, it’s where we want and should be. I think 2024 gives us a chip on our shoulder going into the new season, which hopefully can push us to be champions in 2025.”

Conway was an impact player off the bench in the first half of the season, scoring all four of his goals as a substitute. Conway’s four tallies were also scored at Patriots Point. The forward’s growing impact in the second half of the campaign saw him start in the Battery’s three playoff matches.

“Jackson had great improvements through the 2024 season, which is the most important character trait in our footballers,” said Battery Head Coach Ben Pirmann. “He is an important piece in our attack and in our club, on and off the field. We have very aggressive goals for 2025 and Jackson is a massive part of those plans if we want to compete at the highest levels possible.

“Additionally, Jackson is a top human being. We are lucky to have him on our team and our community is better with him in the Lowcountry.”

Prior to joining the Battery, Conway was a product of Atlanta United FC’s Academy and made his debut in the Championship in 2018 for Atlanta United 2. He signed as a Homegrown Player and made his MLS debut in 2021, going on to record two goals in 12 appearances in the top flight.

The 6-foot-2 forward tallied 23 goals and two assists in 74 appearances with Atlanta United 2 (2018-23) and also found the net for Atlanta United in the Concacaf Champions Cup.
