TULSA, Okla. – FC Tulsa announced on Friday it had signed defender Delentz Pierre ahead of the 2025 USL Championship season. The transaction is pending league and federation approval.

Pierre joins FC Tulsa after playing a key role in helping Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC claim its first league title last November. Acquired on loan from Real Salt Lake of Major League Soccer, he made 23 appearances for Colorado Springs, where he scored two goals, won 100 duels at a 63.9 percent success rate and ranked second on the team in clearances (71) and blocked shots (17).

“We’re thrilled to welcome Delentz Pierre to FC Tulsa,” said FC Tulsa Sporting Director and General Manager Caleb Sewell. “He brings with him a championship-winning mentality that aligns perfectly with our vision for this club. Delentz was a key figure in helping Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC claim its first league title, and his experience in high-pressure postseason moments will be invaluable to our squad.

“With his strong defensive presence, character and proven ability to perform in big games, we’re confident he will make an immediate impact here in Green Country. We’re excited to see him contribute to our pursuit of success this season and beyond.”

A product of the Real Salt Lake Academy, Pierre made four appearances for Real Monarchs SLC as a USL Academy signing in 2019 before enrolling at the University of Portland that fall. He signed as a Homegrown Player with RSL prior to the 2023 season and made 14 appearances for the Monarchs during the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro season, recording one goal while also spending time on loan with the Switchbacks.

While competing at the University of Portland, Pierre was named to the All-West Coast Conference Freshman Team in 2019 and to the All-West Coast Conference Second Team in 2021. He recorded 51 appearances overall for the Pilots, recording four goals and two assists.
