LAS VEGAS – Las Vegas Lights FC announced on Thursday the club had signed defender Turner Humphrey to a contract through the 2026 USL Championship season. The transaction is pending league and federation approval.
Selected by FC Dallas with the No. 44 pick of the 2024 Major League Soccer SuperDraft, Humphrey made 28 appearances for North Texas SC throughout the 2024 MLS Next Pro season, posting a passing accuracy rate of 89.1 percent while helping the team keep seven clean sheets as it claimed the league title.
“We are very happy to welcome Turner to the team. He’s a physically strong defender who had a great year for North Texas, playing close to 2,000 minutes,” said Sporting Director Gianleonardo Neglia. “We feel he is ready to take another step forward in his career, and we’ve already seen success in players doing so here in Las Vegas after good seasons in MLS NEXT Pro.”
Humphrey had previously played for the University of California-Davis during his freshman year in 2021, making 20 appearances as he earned Big West All-Freshman Team. He then transferred to Oregon State, where he made 24 appearances, recording one goal and one assist across two seasons.
